Today my maternal great-grandmother, Emelie “Millie” E. Jilek Chlastak would have been 128.


24 DEC 1894 - Born in Moulton, Lavaca, TX to Frank Jilek, age 36 and Mary Fikac Jilek, age 35 in Shiner, Lavaca, TX. She was the tenth of thirteen children. Her older siblings were Frank Jr., Marie “Mary,” Johanna “Janie,” Anna “Annie,” Agnes J., Anton J., Albina, Theresia, who died in infancy around 1893 and Carolina “Carrie” Marie. 


18 JUL 1896 - Birth of sister, Christine Mary [Moulton, Lavaca, TX].


2 AUG 1899 - Birth of brother, Alphonso “Alfons” Frank [Moulton, Lavaca, TX].


1900 - Residence - Justice Precinct 6, Lavaca, TX.



24 JUL 1901 - Birth of sister, Helen [Moulton, Lavaca, TX].


1910 - Residence - Justice Precinct 6, Lavaca, TX.



5 NOV 1912 - Marriage license obtained.

I believe this is taken inside the Palace of Sweets. My great-grandmother, Mille, is behind the counter and that is my grandfather, Rudy sitting at a table. I’m not sure who the young girl is. It doesn’t look like my great aunt Lorraine.

19 JUN 1936 - Death of father, Frank, at the age of 78 [Moulton, Lavaca, TX] from chronic myocarditis and chronic nephritis. 


25 APR 1937 - Death of brother, Anton J., at the age of 47 [Moulton, Lavaca, TX].


1940 - Residence - Houston, Harris, TX.



26 NOV 1944 - Death of mother, Mary, at the age of 85 from pneumonia [Moulton, Lavaca, TX].


7 MAY 1947 - Death of sister, Carolina “Carrie” Marie, at the age of 54 [Houston, Harris, TX].


16 JUN 1948 - Death of sister, Marie “Mary”, at the age of 67 [Lavaca County, TX].


1950 - Residence - Houston, Harris, TX. 



31 AUG 1956 - Death of sister, Albina, at the age of 65 [Moulton, Lavaca, TX].


15 NOV 1956 - Death of brother, Alphonso Frank, at the age of 57 [San Antonio, Bexar, TX].


7 JUN 1960 - Death of sister, Anna “Annie”, at the age of 74 [Victoria, Victoria, TX].


14 JUN 1965 - Passed away at the age of 70 in Houston, Harris, TX. 



15 JUN 1965 - Her sister, Johanna “Janey”, passed away 20 hours after she died at the age of 81 in Flatonia, Fayette, TX.


Burial - Forest Park Cemetery, Garden of Gethsemane, Houston, Harris County, TX.

There isn’t a photo of her tombstone. I need to go take a picture of it.


Here are a few photos that I have of Millie. There are some others but I’m not sure if they are her or not.



Not sure who all is in this picture besides Mary Kinser Chlastak (third from the left) and Rudy Raymond Chlastak Sr. (fourth from the left). Millie Jilek Chlastak is next to Rudy and his sister Lorraine Chlastak, is next to Millie.
