Today John’s maternal 2nd great-grandmother, Margaret Jane Tindal McCary, would have been 161.


25 OCT 1861 - Born to Isaac Samuel Tindal, age 29 and Mary Jane Vandiver Tindal, who was 31 in Alexis, Cherokee, AL. She was known as Maggie and may have three older siblings. I am unable to verify them yet but they could be Safonie Elizabeth, Caledonia Nebraska [no documentation - listed on FamilySearch] and William Ambrose.


28 JUL 1864 - Death of father, Isaac, at the age of 31. Killed in the Civil War. He was a 1st Sergeant in the 19th Alabama Infantry Regiment, Co. D. killed at Stone Mountain, DeKalb, GA.


1870 - Residence - Can’t locate
