Happy 181st birthday to John’s paternal great-great grandfather, Wesley Sumerfield Tacker.


18 SEP 1841 - Born in Giles, TN. Parents were Jacob Wesley Tacker, who was 23 and Mary Ann Cobb, who was 17. He was the first of eleven children. 

 

Military - A Private from Texas, fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War.


13 SEP 1843 - Birth of sister, Martha Ann [TN].


Abt. 1844 - Birth of sister, Francis [AL]. She is listed on the 1850 census but not after that. Apparently she passed away before 1860.


4 SEP 1844 - Birth of brother, John Melton [TN].


MAR 1850 - Birth of brother, Joshua Alex [AL].


1850 - Residence - District 1, Lauderdale, AL.



JUN 1852 - Birth of sister, Sarah Catherine “Sallie” [TX].


1855 - Birth of sister, Louisa Jane [TX].


9 MAR 1858 - Birth of sister, Susan Tennessee [TX].


1860 - Residence - Fairfield, Freestone, TX.



25 JAN 1861 - Birth of sister, Mary Josephine [TX].


31 OCT 1861 - According to Findagrave he enlisted in Hempstead, TX in Co. D, 10 Regiment Texas Infantry.


25 JAN 1862 - Birth of sister, Eliza Ellen [TX].


11 JAN 1863 - Captured at Arkansas Post later paroled.


31 JUL 1863 - Served as a nurse and was paid .25 a day for 43 days.


16 NOV 1865 - Married Sarah Helon Justice in Limestone County, TX. They were both 24. 


17 JUL 1867 - Birth of sister, Emma Etta [Freestone County, TX].


15 DEC 1869 - Birth of daughter, Clara Ann [Limestone County, TX]. This is John’s great-grandmother.


1870 - Residence - District 48 West Texas, Limestone, TX.



14 DEC 1873 - Birth of daughter, Mary Ella [Limestone, Freestone, TX]. 


16 JUL 1877 - Birth of daughter, [Freestone County, TX].


19 AUG 1877 - Infant daughter passed away.


6 DEC 1877 - Passed away at the age of 36. [Limestone, TX] They had been married 12 years. I haven’t been able to locate a cause of death.
