June 29, 2022 Today my maternal 2nd great-grandfather, František Chlastak , would have been 164 years old. Note about this time period. Not sure how many of you have watched 1883. We just started watching it and are about four episodes in. Wow, I’m not sure how authentic it is but if you are interested in ancestry, and you must be if you are reading this blog, I recommend giving 1883 a watch. It really opens your eyes to what our ancestors went through to get where they settled.  Another note about František Chlastak. There are several photos that I have that I have no clue who they are. I think I may have a photo of him but wanted to identify the photo first. I wished I had my grandmother write who the people were in the photos before she passed away. František “Frank/Franz” Chlastak was born on June 29, 1858, in Libin, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic to Vaclav , age 20 and his mother, Marie Kundrlikova , age 13. June 21, 2022 Today, John's maternal great great-grandfather, Richard Alexander Neyland , would have been 168 years old. 21 JUN 1854 - B orn in Orange, Orange, TX, his father, Richard , was 30 and his mother, Adela , was 24. He was the fifth of nine children. June 19, 2022 160 years ago, my 2nd paternal great-grandmother was born on 19 JUN 1862 in Cedar Bluff, AL. I haven’t been able to verify her parents and siblings. I thought it might be James Deason Faulkenberry and Eliza Ann Nettles but the following death certificates of her children [ Lora , Hoyt , Henry and Andrew ] all list Martha Raines/Raynes as their mother. On our Facebook Group for the Owens family the following information has been discussed. Cindi Owens Argumaniz :  “When Daddy [ Carl Owens ] started trying to get information back in the '60s he found that Martha Louisiana Raines had been married and widowed before she married Andrew Thomas Owens . Stuff like that also provides "challenges."  My thought on this was that she was 15 when she married Andrew Thomas so if she was married before that she was very young. He was the ninth of nine children.
