GRANBERRY HARRISON LITTLE 1863 - 1946

John’s paternal great-grandfather, Granberry Harrison Little, was born to Nancy Prudence Lord Little and Granberry Harrison Little. Both were 25 years of age. He was the 3rd of 14 children. His older siblings were Sara L, and Thomas. The 1900 census states that his mother gave birth to 14 children. Three of them are unnamed.

4 MAY 1863 - Born in [Limestone, TX]. 

1865 - Birth of brother, Daniel B. [TX].

1867 - Birth of sister, Genevia [TX].


22 MAR 1868 - Birth of sister, Elzada Elizabeth [TX].


1870 - Residence - [TX]. Haven't been able to locate them in the 1870 census.


FEB 1870 - Birth of sister, Rebecca T. [TX]. I have found two different birth years. She was nine on the 1880 census so I'm thinking 1870 is correct but her son placed a tombstone on her grave that states that she was born in 1880.


JUN 1874 - Birth of sister, Sarah L. [TX].


27 FEB 1875 - Birth of sister, Amanda Millie [TX].


Abt 1878 - Birth of brother, George W. [TX].


14 OCT 1879 - Birth of sister, Nancy Rhuhama [TX].


1880 - Residence - Limestone, TX.



10 DEC 1887 - Married Clara Ann Tacker when he was 24 and she was 18 [TX].


10 DEC 1888 - Birth of son, John Wesley [Personville, Limestone, TX].


25 DEC 1891 - Birth of daughter, Prudie Helen [Freestone County, TX].


12 FEB 1893 - Death of brother, Daniel B. [Limestone, TX] at the age of 28.


26 JUN 1893 - Birth of son, Arvin E. [Limestone, TX].


22 JAN 1897 - Birth of son, Emmet William [Limestone, TX].


29 SEP 1898 - Death of son, Arvin E. [Limestone, TX] at the age of 5.


21 JAN 1899 - Birth of daughter, Ila [Mexia, TX].


1900 - Residence - Justice Precinct 3, Limestone, TX. This census states that his mother gave birth to 14 children. On Find A Grave someone has stated that there were three unnamed children born to her.



1 FEB 1902 - Birth of daughter, Zula Itasca [TX].


26 FEB 1904 - Birth of son, Sinas Adron [Limestone, TX]. This is John’s grandfather.

1904 - Death of sister, Sarah L. [King, Texas] at the age of 29-30. 

From Find A Grave "Sarah died sometime between 13 Jun 1900 and 1905. She and her family were living in King County, Texas in 1900. Her oldest son, Silvanus, was living with a cousin in 1910 and her daughter was a housekeeper in Midland, Tx. James had remarried and was living in Loving Co., Texas by 1910. Her mother states a loss of two children between 26 Jun 1900 and 28 Apr 1910."

27 MAY 1911 - Death of father, Granberry Harrison Little, at the age of 73 [Limestone, TX].


1915 - Death of sister, Rebecca T. [TX]. Need to find the date of death.


1918 - Death of brother, Thomas [TX]. Cannot locate his grave or other documents to verify.


1920 - Residence - Justice Precinct 3, Limestone, TX.



1921 - Death of mother, Nancy Prudence Lord Little, at the age of 84 [Limestone, TX].


1930 - Residence - Precinct 1, Anderson, TX



17 MAY 1933 - Death of brother, George W. [Kings, NY].


27 JUN 1934 - Death of brother, Francis Marian [Donie, Freestone, TX].


ABT 1935 - Death of sister, Genevia [?].


26 AUG 1938 - Death of son, Emmet William [Rapides, LA].


29 APR 1939 - Death of sister, Elzada Elizabeth [CA].


1940 - Residence - Justice Precinct 1, Anderson, TX.


19 APR 1946 - Passed away [Palestine, Anderson, TX] at the age of 82.


Burial - Oakes Cemetery, Limestone County, TX.

On January 22, my maternal 3rd great-grandfather, John D. Quillin , would’ve been 210.
